“At least you aren’t pregnant”

Since I’ve moved to New York, I have made this my new mantra.
I must admit, I stole a little inspiration from POKE’s “Don’t give up” motto when making my new wall poster.

Regardless of its origins, "At least you aren't pregnant" carries an important message. Things could always be worse; we could be pregnant.

For all the young female professionals out there- just image how bad things could be. Sure, you’re an unpaid intern and don’t sleep much but, think about being 20 lbs heavier, moody, vomiting, gassy and having to figure out how to care for a soon-to-be wee one.

Awful. Pure awful.

So ladies, next time you get stuck working on the weekend or lose your Metro card, remember: It’s not all that bad.

And if you are pregnant, I’m sorry. Unless you want to be, then congratulations!

P.S. Mom this post doesn’t mean that I’m doing things you’d wouldn’t want me to do.

P.P.S. I think Kotex should make a new line of tampons targeted toward teens using this as a tagline.

*I apologize if this post offends any of you.
