The Jemima Diet

Over a pancake breakfast, my dad noted that Aunt Jemima has lost quite a bit of weight over the years. I looked it up and sure enough, it's true.

However, as Aunt Jemima's weight has declined, the rest of the American population's weight ballooned. According to a 2002 study, the average American weights 25 lbs more than in 1960. What's up with the inverse relationship? Was Aunt Jemima's new figure so appealing that we couldn't help but shove endless vats of buttermilk pancakes and syrup down our throats?

Because blankets just aren't user friendly

Arriving home in Hillsboro today I reintroduced myself to an old friend, TV. Like most encounters with old friends I realized that time changes relationships. TV and I are no longer friends, and I blame this commercial/produc- the Snuggie.

As my mom pointed out, it’s like wearing a bathrobe backwards. Who buys this stuff?

I found this puddle on my way home from school, looks a lot like a buffalo on a tightrope, right?

We painted the dogs green with envy

Even dogs get jealous. According to this article, dogs acquired learned jealously from spending large amounts of time with humans. If a different specifies can pick up and absorb human emotions, what effect do other humans have on our personalities?

This jealous dog is proof that I should make a conscious effort to stay away from negative people; emotions spread like margarine out of a tub.

But then again, how different is jealously from inspiration? Both evoke feelings of desire by showing you something that you don’t have, but could.

Scrappers establishes dress code at W + K 12

Watching W + K 12’s process video for the “I heart American” spread in Good , a half naked bearded man with a dead + upholstered raccoon atop his shoulders caught my eye.

I thought, there must be something special about this dead raccoon gracing his shoulders. Perhaps it gives him superhuman powers? I looked the guy up, Justin “Scrappers” Morrison. Turns out he is superhuman. Not only can he grow a bush on his face, but he’s a “writer, who can illustrate and an artist who can art direct,” according to his homepage, or an all around badass.

If we all grew wicked beards, went shirtless and wore dead critters around our necks, maybe we too would be amazing.

My 2009 New Year's resolution is to meet Scrappers Morrison and ask him about his stiff neck-coon.

If only we could harness the power of live puppy feed to some how save the world.

Humans love new things. New = Exciting. Therefore everyone loves baby animals. This is a harsh lesson the stars of live puppy feed must realize as they find themselves on live dog feed and their daily hits decline.

Yesterday I spent far too much time watching YouTube videos of baby mammals but have realized that not all baby animals belong on YouTube. There are some animals that are meant for far greater stardom.

Note the power of a fictitious hybrid, such as the panda dog. I suggest we make baby lion zebras, but what will they eat?
