E. chromi and synthetic biology

E. chromi from Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg on Vimeo.

If you didn't think science was cool yet, watch this video (the whole thing).
E. chromi is a super sweet project that "genetically engineering bacteria to secrete a variety of coloured pigments, visible to the naked eye." I know that doesn't sound so cool at first, but when you see the pink and purple poo, trust me, you'll wish you'd become a scientist.

Look what you can get in Oregon for $2.49.

Every time I come home to Oregon I bring back things I don't need, but for some reason want to have in my life. This visit home yielded some sweet Value Village finds such as a ballerina jewelry box for $2 and animal domino for 49 cents. So what if the box originally said, "Jessica". My label maker obviously took care of that, and you know those animal dominoes are going to make for a good craft project. Stay tuned to see what life they take on in the near future.
