Fall is time for cinnamon, almonds,
apples and the end of New York humidity. To celebrate, I baked these treats.
The caramel stuffed apple cookies were originally supposed
to be the cider cookies seen here. However, I couldn’t find powdered cider mix so I substituted
it for one box of Jiffy apple muffin mix and ½ cup brown sugar. The cookies are delicious.
The acorns are super effortless — no baking needed. (Unless,
you’re hardcore and want to bake your own donuts.) Follow the acorn instructions
here.
For these, I would highly suggest cake
donut holes rather than glazed. I also used almonds instead of toffee bits and sprinkles. The
acorns were tasty but while eating them I kept wondering, “what all is in my mouth?”. At the end of the day, the acorns probably look better than they taste.
